Private Excursion Chichen Itza

UNESCO heritage combined with a visit to a cenote and the colonial city of Valladolid

Our private Chichen Itza tour takes you to the impressive Mayan temples of Chichen Itza. The pyramid of Kukulkan, an important Mayan deity, is one of the most famous monuments in Mexico. It is one of the New 7 wonders of the world and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. In addition to the majestic Kukulkan pyramid, there are other well-preserved complexes, such as the largest ancient ball court in Central America. The nearby sacred cenote is easily accessible and explains the water supply of the great Mayan city. After this long visit of Chichen Itza, you will enjoy a swim in a refreshing cenote. Here we can have some lunch before we continue our trip to the colonial city of Valladolid.

Description

Private excursion to Chichen Itza: Chichen Itza- Swim in a Cenote – Colonial city Valladolid

Chichen Itza attracts millions of visitors every year. Trips to Chichen Itza are very popular and when the busses arrive, it gets crowded very quickly. Experience Chichen Itza before those busses arrive. We recommend starting our private excursions to Chichen Itza very early, so you can enjoy the archaeological sites without the crowds. Usually our private Chichen Itza Tour begins between 6:00 and 7:00 in the morning. As well as less crowds at this time, it is not so hot for visiting the Mayan ruins. The trip from Playa del Carmen to the archaeological sites of Chichen Itza takes about 2 hours. Once there, we accompany you on a journey to the times of the ancient Maya. You will learn about the architecture of the temples, the knowledge and religion of the ancient Maya, their social structures and astronomy. During our private Chichen Itza excursions, we are completely flexible and can arrange the day as the guests please. Particularly beautiful, is the visit to a freshwater cenote and the colonial town of Valladolid. We are happy to give suggestions for an unforgettable day and adapt our Chichen Itza shore excursions to the time schedule of cruise ship guests.

We booked the private excursion to Chichen Itza with Leon Tours, as we like to be alone. Everything was perfectly organized and the excursion was great !!! For lunch, we stopped in a cenote that was not crowded at all, the big travel buses drove to another cenote. All in all, we felt super cared for and would book the trip again at any time.
